Diversity

OAI United is a community-driven platform founded by African immigrants, U.S.-based diaspora groups, and friends of Africa. We believe that the African diaspora holds a powerful, unique role in strengthening cultural, economic, and political ties between Africa and the United States. As a non-partisan, independent organization, we work to connect, inspire, and support Africans living abroad while promoting positive change in both continents.

Organization of African Immigrants

Why Now

The US and Africa recognize the importance of the Africa Immigrants financially and politically. Their
annual remittances are greater than pledged and disbursed foreign aid. The Diaspora group is an
important political block. The Africa Immigrants will play an effective and critical role through their
relevant and genuine representation at the table during formal and informal discussions related to Africa.

The 2022 US-Africa Head of States Summit provided an opportunity for the group to initiate its
engagements with African leaders through their respective diplomatic routes in Washington DC and with
the U.S. authorities.
